Kurstin & Nick :: Seagrove Park, The Brigantine, Del Mar, CA

Both Seagrove Park and The Brigantine in Del Mar were new venues for us so it was really refreshing to shoot at some new spots. What’s cool about Seagrove Park is that the train tracks are just a few steps away, along with the beach of course. The Brigantine also really impressed us with their reception area behind their restaurant that overlooks the coaster tracks and the Del Mar race tracks. Kurstin and Nick were really thoughtful people and we absolutely loved their friends and family. It was a perfect day and I couldn’t be happier with the shots, congrats you two!

Vanessa & George &…Bentley :: Engagement @ Balboa Park, San Diego, CA

Well we immediately hit if off with Vanessa & George. Not only did we have spot-on chemistry with them but they’re also fellow boston terrier owners. We’re bummed they don’t live closer as I think we could have some fun double dates and even bring our Bostons along. Wait, maybe not the more I think about that statement haha…bummer is our Boston’s are brother and sister and they basically tear any dog apart that threatens their disturbing brother-sister relationship haha. We literally are the couple who would send one of those reels of footage of our dogs acting like complete maniacs. Anyway, getting back on track…this was another one of those shoots where you just say “I love my job”. Vanessa and George really should be proud of how photogenic and complimentary they are to each other. Bentley, their Boston, was ridiculously cute and so well-behaved. Often times when clients bring their dogs it can be difficult but this little guy was putting our Bostons to shame in the behavior department lol. Keep in touch you guys, otherwise we’ll see you at the wedding!

Christine & Brian :: The Wedding :: Rancho Bernardo Inn, San Diego, CA

As promised here are the shots from Christine & Brian’s wedding at Rancho Bernardo Inn. This was a great day for Marissa and I as it was almost like a high school reunion to see so many familiar faces from our hometown of Ramona, CA. I have to say that the “Sing/Dance-off” at the reception was the most entertaining event I’ve ever seen at a wedding! I’m not talking about when people just make a line on either side and randomly dance down the center. I’m talking about a fully planned performance from several different “contestants”(yes an award was even given out). LOL, unforgettable.

Christine & Brian :: Engagement @ La Jolla Cove, San Diego, CA

It’s cool when you get the opportunity to work with people from your hometown. Marissa and I both went to school with Christine and still get to hang out amongst the same circle of friends out of Ramona, CA. We LOVE the way the shots came out as we tried a couple new spots around La Jolla Cove and they made for some cool shots.

Lauren & Alden :: Beach Engagement @ Del Mar, CA

Lauren & Alden were really cool to shoot with as their mellow vibe put us at ease during the entire shoot. These two make such a good couple- I wish I could’ve had time to post more from this session. I can’t wait to post the wedding shots soon. We just shot it recently and got a ton of images that I’m absolutely nuts over.

Ashley & Eddie :: Hyatt Mission Bay, San Diego, CA

This was our first wedding at the Hyatt in Mission Bay. We found some really cool spots on their grounds and in their modern lounge-style check-in area. Ashley & Eddie were such a sweet couple, really great people to work with.

Megan & Rigo :: The El Cortez Hotel, Balboa Park, Downtown San Diego, CA

We had an awesome experience shooting with Megan & Rigo as we were able to grab shots around downtown to keep with the theme from their engagement session. We also had a chance to stop by Balboa park to give some variety to some of the other wedding party shots. The ceremony and reception both took place within the El Cortez hotel’s Don Room; which was cool. They just flipped the room come the time of the reception. BTW loved Megan’s green heels as they really complimented a lot of the shots! Nice find Megan! And Rigo your green tie really “tied” it all together. Okay, that was an embarassingly lame attempt at a joke. Hey, there was no other word that would “suit” it better. Wow, I better stop, buh-bye.

Josephine & Bikash :: La Valencia Hotel, La Jolla, CA

The La Valencia Hotel is a great venue for weddings as it provides a very convenient scenario for having everything in one location- hotel rooms for getting ready, a pretty ceremony site, and private reception room. Plus La Jolla cove is just a matter of a few hundred feet away for more shots.

Rhea & Djem :: The Immaculata, Balboa Park, Admiral Kidd, San Diego, CA

Here’s a collection of shots from Rhea & Djem’s wedding at USD’s The Immaculata Church, Balboa Park & Admiral Kidd Club. We were lucky enough to have one of the doves from the release fly right at Marissa’s lens, made for an awesome shot. The shot of Djem alone was at the Immaculata on an upper level area to the left of the church; which I only just recently found. I can’t believe how many times we’ve shot here and I didn’t know about this little gem. Although USD’s campus is beautiful to the eye, it’s not very suitable at mid-day for shooting so this find really works to deal with the sun will still providing interesting visuals. For the ceremony we shot with available light at 3200 ISO at around f/2.0 but even then it’s still a matter of having a very steady hand with a shutter at 80-100 or lower. I tend to track my lens/follow the movement of everyone during precessional to avoid blurry shots.
