Thanksgiving with the fam. Better to post late than never!

Where has December gone! Wasn’t it just Thanksgiving yesterday? I have some photos of my family from Thanksgiving that I have been eager to share. Below is my cousin Bryce. He is my cousin Eris’ (more like sister)  son. Isn’t he just adorable?!

Kirsten and Megan, cutie pie sisters and as you can see from the photo above, total hams!

Total Ramona girls by the looks of the photo below. Nature lovers. Just like me when I was kid growing up on the property photographed. That’s what we Ramonians call it when you have a lot of acerage, “the property.” (Weston and I now live in Torrey Hills, which we love)

Here is one of the best parts of all holidays at my aunt’s house, when my mom requests for her to play “Moon River” on her grand piano. Definitely one of the hightlights of the year for me :)

My wonderful mom and her sis above. Me and my two personalities below.

Another part of one of mine and Weston’s holiday traditions, driving to LA after hanging with my fam. We actually love the drive because no is on the road and the warm welcome at Weston’s grandma’s house is always worth the 2 hour drive.

Another beloved tradition is the perusing of the photo albums at Weston’s family gatherings. Without fail all the albums come out, especially the wedding photos. I cannot tell you how rewarding it is to see that 50 years later their wedding album is still one of their most prized possessions.

Coralie and Bill cutting the cake.

Above is Bill, Weston’s uncle, stationed in Japan. He is looking at the gorgeous photo his wife, Coralie, had taken and sent overseas to send her love. His exact words were, “all the guys thought I had a movie star girlfriend because of that photo.” How cool is that!? Makes me love what I do even more. And here are Coralie and Bill years later. Still very much in love! :)

Sheyna & Gavin :: Rancho Bernardo Inn :: San Diego, CA

Sheyna & Gavin are just awesome to photograph. They’re so mellow and just being around them puts you at ease. And we had such a great time at the wedding; we saw so many familiar faces being that both Marissa and I went to high school with the bride, Sheyna. Go Bulldogs! ;). With their featured blog photos I decided to highlight the groom, Gavin, a tad more to let all the engaged guys out there know that they aren’t overlooked on the wedding day and can rock it too! Sheyna, he did a pretty darn good job didn’t he!? Your hubby looks as sharp as James Bond in these shots!

Check out some of the featured photos below as well as many, many others in the photo slideshow link here…

MarIsa & Marshall :: The Immaculata Church, Hotel Del, Coronado Community Center

After MarIsa’s & Marshall’s Engagement Shoot we knew we had a fun-loving couple on our hands. I mean how can you not just love someone like MarIsa who flashes a smile at every turn; just so vibrant and full of life. And you can see how much Marshall loves her disposition by his body language around her. I thank God for all the amazing couples that have crossed paths with us. Sure we may be our own bosses but photographing for all these great people keeps us in check and inspired to take pride in everything we do because they deserve nothing less.

Bouchér makes WPPI’s “Studio of the Month” :: Wedding & Portrait Photographers International

About 4 months ago our studio received a phone call from WPPI with an offer to be their “studio of the month” for their monthly newsletter. We immediately jumped at the opportunity and did a phone interview for the featured article which outlines the past, present and future of our studio. It’s an exciting opportunity for Marissa and I as we’ve been going to WPPI since our first year in business and it’s one of the biggest associations/conventions in our industry that takes place each year in Las Vegas.

Lindsay & Brandon :: Maderas Golf Club, Rancho Bernardo, CA

Wow time definitely flies…I swear it was just yesterday that we were shooting the engagement photos with these two at the airport; and now here we are witnessing them become husband and wife. You can’t help but be excited for couples when you see how much they glow come the wedding day. Lindsay & Brandon have a love for each other that you just can’t deny when you see how magnetic these two are in person. And sure enough that translates in the photos and makes our job that much easier :). And although the fires hit this area of the county the hardest, Maderas Golf Club looked stunning that day; especially at this time of day. It’s definitely nice shooting when the sun isn’t at it’s highest point as it can limit or change photo options. You’ll notice that the shots below of Lindsay & Brandon on the course were right before sunset. We definitely try to work with our client’s coordinators to give the bride & groom the golden hour for their shots together if possible. Of course being in San Diego we are often faced with bright hot sun in the middle of the day and still need to nail the shots. This is why we usually arrive an hour before our contracted time to the venue and try to estimate where the sun or light may fall and pick out some potential spots so we’re not dragging our clients all over the place in the heat looking for a spot to shoot. Check out a selection of shots below and tons more in their photo slideshow at the following link:
