Marissa and I have been anticipating the arrival of the OCT/NOV edition of Modern Bride Magazine as it features one of our most memorable weddings with our clients “Traci & K.C.” (pg 204). The wedding itself was definitely magazine worthy by not only being gorgeously crafted but also being star-studded with celebrity guests such as Drew Lachey (Groomsman), Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo, and Ladainian Tomlinson. Nick & Drew Lachey ended up singing beside Traci during the reception which made for a pretty entertaining piece of the night. The wedding was a blast as we often forgot that we were working because it was so much fun to observe all the unique touches Traci & K.C. had planned. I also have to give props to Traci for purchasing her dress through the Brides Against Breast Cancer, of which benefits went to the Making Memories Foundation.

Michelle & Michael :: Zoro Garden, MoPA Museum of Photographic Arts, Balboa Park
Michelle & Michael’s wedding ceremony took place at the Zoro Garden with the reception following at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MoPA) all within the grounds of Balboa Park. Marissa and I really enjoyed their company as they were extremely care-free and just classy people all around. The wedding had some unique elements that really tied in perfect with Michelle & Michael’s personalities and style. We always love when couples color outside the lines of tradition a little to add a piece of themselves into the event’s overall vibe. From the amazing vintage-style wedding dress to the tan suits to the classical guitar during the ceremony to the old-school photo booth, to the custom made (by the bride) cake topper, to the reception being held in a photography museum(Ha you know we gotta love that!), to finally Michelle & Michael exiting the reception by way of a pedicab!

Melissa & Adam :: Cypress, CA
Melissa and Adam, we gotta hang out soon! These two really struck a chord with us, we have had such a good time photographing them from the Engagement shoot, to portraits, to now finally the biggest day of them all! The wedding had some really cool elements such as all the groomsmen wearing Chuck Taylors Converse All Star shoes and Melissa having ruby red heels on. The wedding took place in Cypress at the Eagle’s Nest Golf Course; check out ‘da shots b-low! Marissa and I had a great time as it’s always such a pleasure working with fun couples and solid vendors. Mick, Julie, as always, you guys rocked and made everything run so smooth; it was good catchin’ up with you guys. Anton, it was also a pleasure to work with you, definitely keep in touch!

A big THANK YOU to Angie & Michael
Marissa and I (Crystal) would like to thank Angie and Michael for pleasantly surprising us with Padres tickets last Thursday! Angie just stopped by the Studio and asked if any of us wanted to go and handed over some great seats. Weston wasn’t able to make it
because he already made plans to meet with his band, so Marissa took along a good friend and I was able to take my hubby! WOW, what a game to go to… the Padres killed the Giants 11-3!! Thank you for thinking of us! Here we are at the game…

And here’s the happy soon-to-be Mr. & Mrs. Gamez!

Nicole & Jacob :: The Westgate Plaza Hotel, Downtown San Diego, CA
Now THIS was a fun group of people!!! Nicole & Jacob…you guys showed me and Marissa a seriously good time! Wow, and what a wedding venue! The Westgate Plaza Hotel is decked out and has to be the absolute nicest hotel I’ve ever seen and on par with diamond rated hotels in Vegas. The reception was set upon an enormous outdoor area countless stories up in downtown; it was an incredible site, no doubt. Be sure to check out the shots of Jacob as Michael Jackson, as he “rocks the reception” during their first dance. This guy has some moves! This wasn’t some kind of attempt at dancing like MJ, it was a full on replication! Bravo my friend, bravo

Katie & Patrick :: San Clemente, CA
I chose this collection of images for Katie & Patrick’s blog post mainly because I was drawn to the undeniable chemistry between Katie & Patrick. As I browsed through their wedding images I couldn’t help but select multiple shots of them together. With each image I was reminded of my own relationship with Marissa and why I’m so grateful for it. What Katie & Patrick have is really special and I’m so blessed to share that same love, friendship and bond with Marissa in my own marriage. Yeah I know, gettin’ sappy here but hey, I’m just bein’ real! Katie, Patrick…we are so happy for the two of you and we wish you an amazing future as husband and wife; you’ve already got all the right ingredients!

Jackie & Kelly :: The Prim Wedding in Coronado
Jackie & Kelly’s Wedding was a multi location event that spanned from the famous Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado Marriot, Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, to Peohe’s Restaurant. The multiple locations gave a great variety to the shots and also made for quite the adventure as we were shooting and then on the run, then shooting, then on the run. It was challenging but rewarding to pull it all off! Hey I didn’t get a chance to hit the gym that week so it’s all good on my end!
You’ll notice that the wedding party had plenty of their own ideas and how could we say no when you see the groomsmen pyramid! The day came to rest at Peohe’s for the reception and we ended up pulling Jackie & Kelly out on the nearby pier for some shots during sunset. Check out the shots!
